FJS Snow Plowing

About FJS Snow Plowing

At three in the morning Danbury is nearly silent — the drone of I-84 thinned to a murmur, the brick storefronts of Main Street dark under a deepening coat of white, the old Hat City asleep. FJS Snow Plowing is out in it with the blade down, cutting the first clean line through driveways while flakes still slant through the headlights. The craft lives in details nobody sees happen: pushing the snow far enough back that the next band of the storm has room to land, squaring off the mouth of the drive, leaving a lane wide enough to back out without clipping a mailbox. Danbury's hills make it harder than it sounds, with drives that pitch steeply up from the road and corners where the wind heaps drifts against old stone. When the town finally stirs, the snow is already banked high at the edges and the drives lie dark and bare down to the road.
