About Barrett Contracting Inc

The wind off Candlewood Lake carries an edge in January that the rest of Danbury never quite gets. Barrett Contracting Inc runs the storms on that end of town, plowing driveways and clearing the tight turnarounds that lake roads are full of. A snow route is a long math problem solved in the dark — who gets opened first, where the piles go, which hill needs a second pass once the temperature drops and the melt sets up hard. Steps, walks and the ends of driveways get cleared by hand, because that is where people actually put their feet. When the sky finally goes gray and ordinary in the morning, the work is invisible, which is how you know it was done.
