Storms reach Danbury from the northwest, over the ridges, and by four in the morning Federal Road is a single string of taillights and blowing white. Affordable snow removal is out in it, opening driveways and lots before the first alarms go off in the neighborhoods along the north end. Plowing is a night trade: pass after pass, headlights on falling snow, banks pushed back far enough that the next storm still has somewhere to go. Walkways get shoveled down to pavement, steps cleared, and the apron at the street opened again after the town plow buries it. The reward is a customer stepping outside at seven to a driveway that looks like the storm skipped their house.
