Scovill's Landscape Contractors

About Scovill's Landscape Contractors

February comes up the Connecticut River valley at Cromwell with a wind that finds every driveway on Hillside Road, and Scovill's Landscape Contractors is out in it early, pushing lots and drives back down to dark pavement. The warmer months turn to building: grading and drainage first, the unglamorous shaping of ground, then patios and walkways, plantings set in, irrigation run, low lighting that wakes as the valley goes blue. They work the full arc of landscape construction — design on paper to finished outdoor rooms — with spring and fall maintenance keeping properties in order across Cromwell and Middletown. There is a real satisfaction in a yard here when it's done: a stone edge holding its line, beds cut clean above the river meadows, a place that looks like it grew where it stands.
