About Roots & Branches Organic Landcare

Above Cream Hill the pastures tip into morning fog, and the old stone walls run off into the woods the way they have since the fields were fields. Roots & Branches Organic Landcare works that ground with garden design & build, garden installations, and stone masonry — retaining walls set to hold a Northwest Corner hillside exactly where it stands. There is always something brewing: compost, worm bins, compost tea, soil solutions and amendments, and air spading to loosen what the years have packed hard around a root flare. Edible gardens and raised beds go in near the kitchen door, orchard management carries the fruit trees through their year, and organic plant health care answers ornamental plant and turf pests without conventional landscape chemicals. Tree pruning opens the crowns, transplanting moves a young tree to better light, and in late October the fall bulbs go down into dark soil — a promise made now and kept in April.
