About Solid Grounds Landsaping LLC
Late April in Canton, and the Farmington Valley finally lets go of winter — the river running high and brown under the Collinsville bridge, last autumn's leaves matted in the beds, the first mowing of the year still a week of warm days away. That is where Solid Grounds Landscaping LLC starts its year: spring cleanups, winter debris hauled off the lawns, mulch laid fresh around the plantings so the beds go dark and even again. Through summer it's the weekly mow along these hillside streets, an even clean cut and a line you can follow from the road; by fall it's leaves and branches gathered out of the garden beds, and by the first storm off Avon Mountain it's driveways and walkways cleared so the morning can simply happen. In between there's the heavier work the ground asks for — grading so the water runs where it should, light excavation for a new walkway, pruning overgrown branches back into shape, topsoil and stone and gravel delivered right to the property. Canton and the towns around it hold their seasons well, and this is some of what keeps them looking that way.
