About Toomey Tree Care

Up in the northwest corner the hills win: Bear Mountain and the Riga plateau stand over Salisbury, the Housatonic draws its slow line east of town, and Wononscopomuc holds the whole sky in the middle of Lakeville. Toomey Tree Care works the tall hardwoods and white pines that come with country like that — trees left alone long enough to get big, on lots where a mistake has a long way to fall. Removals are laid out with the lake road, the stone wall and the porch roof all accounted for before anything moves. Pruning up here asks for a light hand: dead wood cleaned from a sugar maple, a low limb lifted off a field edge, tip weight taken from a branch that has grown out over a driveway. When ice comes off the ridge in January and the pines shed their tops, the work goes on until the yard is quiet again.
