About Erik's Lawn & Landscape
By late October the sugar maples along Burlington's roadsides have let go of nearly everything, and a good share of it lands in a gutter somewhere between the ridge and the valley floor. Erik's Lawn & Landscape spends those weeks on ladders, clearing troughs so that the rain coming off a Connecticut roof goes where it was meant to go instead of down the foundation. Spring brings a second pass, after the seed pods and a winter's worth of grit have settled in. It is unglamorous work with a very clear result: water running free, a dry house, a roofline that looks cared for from the street. The routes cover the Farmington Valley towns of Avon, Canton, Farmington, Granby and Simsbury, then reach out across Hartford and Litchfield County to Barkhamsted, Harwinton, New Hartford, Torrington and Winsted.
