About Balone Properties LLC

February in Brooklyn arrives quietly along the Quinebaug — the river running black between white banks, the mill row downstream at Danielson steaming, the whole northeast corner of Connecticut gone still well before nine at night. Storms out here rarely announce themselves; they simply accumulate, and by morning the long rural driveways off Route 6 need opening before anybody gets anywhere at all. Balone Properties LLC handles that side of the winter: plowing, clearing, making the way passable again. There is a plain pride in it — headlights on a wall of white, a berm pushed back, a property that works by daylight. Brooklyn keeps its old green and its farm roads through every one of those nights, and this is simply the work of keeping them reachable.
