About Brothers-In-Lawn Landscaping

Morning fog sits low over Bunnell's Pond and lifts slowly up the slopes of Beardsley Park, and by seven the grass across Bridgeport's North End is bright and heavy with wet. Brothers-In-Lawn Landscaping times the week around that — waiting out the dew, then mowing straight lines that hold their shape until the next cut. Trimmer work goes around every fence post, mailbox and maple root, and the borders along the walks are cut deliberately, because that is the detail a person actually sees from the front step. Seasonal cleanups clear the drift of leaf and twig the Pequonnock valley sends down each autumn. It is ordinary work, and it is deeply satisfying to look back at.
