About Lawn Love - New Haven

In Branford the dooryards run close to the road — a lip of lawn, a stone wall gone soft with lichen, a driveway bending toward the wide silver light that comes up off the Sound. Lawn Love - New Haven keeps those yards through the ordinary week: mowing and trimming, fertilization and aeration, seed worked into the thin spots, weed control laid down before the weeds have a thought, bushes shaped back, mulch spread dark around the beds. Autumn drops the ridge oaks all at once, and the leaves get raked, blown and carried off, gutters cleared while the ladder is already up; when the wind swings around off the water, there is plowing and shoveling to be done before the first commute. What stays behind is the good part — a clean stripe drawn across a hillside lot, an edge so crisp it looks ruled, a drive opened all the way down to the granite. The work runs from Branford through East Haven, Hamden, West Haven and Milford, east along the shore to Guilford, and inland to North Haven, Wallingford, Cheshire, Meriden and Ansonia.
