Bethel sits where the Still River valley narrows and the wooded ridges of western Connecticut close in — granite ledge under thin soil, stone walls threading the second-growth oak, old hat-shop streets running down toward the water. Landco Inc. is a full-service property maintenance company working that ground: year-round lawn care, spring and fall cleanups, landscape design, retaining walls, steps and patios, land clearing and fence installation, and in winter, plowing, snow blowing, and shoveling. There is a real pleasure in what the work leaves behind — the mown panel of green laid clean against the wall line, leaves stripped off a lawn so it can breathe into November, a driveway opened down to pavement while the ridge is still dark and the salt trucks are somewhere out on Route 6. Stone gets set so it will sit right through the freeze and thaw, and a yard is handed back able to hold its season. They serve residential homes and townhome communities across Southwest Connecticut, Fairfield County, the Greater Danbury area, and parts of Westchester County.
