Morning comes late to Beacon Falls; the hills on both sides hold the sun off the valley floor until the mist has lifted from the flats. It is a narrow town — a few village streets, and then the ground goes straight up toward the ponds and the woods above. A Better View LLC keeps lawns here mowed and looked after, working the small pitched yards on the hillside and the flatter lots down near the village. The reward is the plain one: grass cut level on ground that is anything but, edges tight, clippings blown off the walk. Around Beacon Falls, that is a good day's work.
