About All State Junk and Scrap Removal LLC

Winter in Andover starts hours before the town does. While the porch lights are still burning along Route 6 and the Hop River runs black between white banks, All State Junk and Scrap Removal LLC is already turning into the first driveway with the plow down. Snow up on these hills doesn't fall so much as travel — it comes sideways off the open fields, fills a dooryard twice in one night, and packs hard where the wind curls around a garage. So the work is clearing, waiting, clearing again, then shoveling the steps by hand and putting down salt so the walk has grip at seven. There is a plain, honest pride in a driveway cut down to bare pavement with the banks squared off and the mailbox still standing. By the time light reaches the old rail bed, the way out is open and everybody gets where they were going.
