A chinook can come down off the peaks and take a foot of snow out of Westminster in a single warm afternoon, which is a lovely trick and a genuine problem. Mountain X plans for both halves of it: clear the property fast while the snow is still soft, and treat the surfaces that will glaze the moment the wind quits and the temperature drops back. Driveways, walks and lots get pushed wide so the melt has somewhere to go instead of pooling at the low corner.
