Zenscape

About Zenscape

A particular quiet takes hold of Wellington after a night of snow, before the highway wakes up and the wind picks a direction. Zenscape does its work inside that hour, opening driveways, clearing lots, shoveling walks and steps while the town is still holding its breath. Out here the storms come off the mountains and lay a clean sheet across the flats — beautiful for about as long as it takes to remember you have to get to work. Clearing it properly means the whole surface rather than a path, with the piles set aside where they will not refreeze across the drive. Making order out of weather is a decent thing to spend a winter doing.
