Boulder's trees live between two worlds: ponderosa climbing toward the Flatirons, and the big cottonwoods and ash along the creek path and the old grid below. Roots & Shoots Tree Care works that whole range — pruning young trees into structure that will hold, trimming deadwood and clearance limbs off a house on a lot barely wider than its driveway, removing what has gone past keeping. Spring here can drop a heavy, water-laden snow onto a canopy in full leaf, and storm damage cleanup is the work of the days after: limbs cleared, brush chipped out, the yard handed back. Shade matters at 5,400 feet, where the sun has less air to travel through, so the aim is to keep every bit of canopy a tree can safely carry. A crown that looks like nobody touched it, still standing solid after a wet spring storm, is the whole ambition.
