Late September turns the ridges above town into one long gold seam of aspen, and that is the signal to finish out the yard year and start getting ready for the other one. Telluride Land Works takes both halves: mowing, edging, trimming and bed care while the grass is running, then plowing, shoveling and ice control once the canyon fills in. Snow arrives here by the foot, sliding off the high country day after day, so drives get cut early and banks kept back before there is nowhere left to put anything. Cleanups bracket the year, thaw debris in spring and leaves in autumn, with seasonal snow routes carrying the long middle. Ground that has been cared for in August is far easier to keep open in February.
