Colorado Avenue in the blue hour, gondola cabins swinging up toward the ridge, storefront lights coming on and every walk needing to be clear before the first coffee is poured: that is a Telluride winter morning. Telluride Service Heroes takes it on, shoveling walks and entries, plowing drives and small lots, spreading de-icer on steps and on stone that goes slick after a night of melt and freeze. Come summer the same properties want the other kind of attention, mowing, edging, trimming, beds weeded and cleanups at both ends of the season. Town is tight and the pitches are steep, so much of the work is patient and done by hand. A clean walk on a steep street is a small kindness, and it shows.
