Spring comes late to Tabernash. In the Fraser Valley, frost can turn up in nearly any month, and the meadows along the Fraser River hold off on greening until the last snow has drained away. Grandvalleyhydroseeding works inside that narrow window, spraying hydroseed to start new lawns on bare mountain soil and mowing and trimming existing ones through the short, bright summer. There is real joy in watching a raw stretch of dirt go faintly green, then soft and full, over a run of warm weeks. Above it all the Continental Divide keeps its snowfields deep into July, a reminder of how quickly the season will turn. Here every lawn is a small race against the calendar, and the green at the end is the prize.
