By early afternoon most days in July, a thunderhead has stacked itself over the Palmer Divide and started drifting north toward Stonegate, leaving ten minutes of rain and a long cool evening behind it. That evening is the good hour for mowing, with the light gone amber, the grass standing back up and the air finally soft. Green Tip works that rhythm through the warm months with mowing, trimming, edging and cleanup, then reverses it in January, when the job moves to the dark end of the night. Snow here can come dry and easy or heavy as wet sand, and either way a plowed drive and a shoveled walk are what let a household get on with its day. Same yards, opposite seasons, one set of hands.
