Out here the snow doesn't always fall — sometimes it simply arrives sideways, lifted off a harvested field and thrown across the road with nothing between Peetz and Sterling to slow it down. Lawn Force runs into that, headlights on, cutting a lane back into a drive that has already closed twice since supper. A ground blizzard rebuilds whatever you cleared an hour ago, so the trick is knowing which drifts to fight now and which to widen for later. Walks come down to the surface, and the ice gets treated exactly where boots land. Morning arrives, the wind lays down, and everybody drives out like it was easy.
