Fish Creek Falls Road climbs, and so do the driveways off it, which means snow that would be an inconvenience on flat ground becomes a genuine problem on a grade. Hill's Lawn & Landscape works both halves of the Steamboat Springs year: plowing and sanding those pitched approaches all winter, then mowing, trimming and refreshing landscape beds once the aspens finally leaf out. There is a moment in June when the whole hillside changes color in about four days, and that is when the mowers start. They cut, they edge, they haul off the clippings and later the leaves, and come November the blade goes back on the truck. Same properties, two entirely different jobs, one steady hand across them.
