About Red Feather Excavating

When January storms pile snow across the mountain roads of Red Feather Lakes, getting from cabin to County Road 74E can become the whole day's project. Red Feather Excavating does snow removal for homes up here, opening driveways through the drifts so neighbors can get down the hill and back again. The same outfit comes back in summer for lawn care, cutting the quick grass that springs up once the high country finally thaws. It is an excavating company at heart, at home with heavy machinery and rough, sloping ground. Under dark lodgepole and a sky crowded with winter constellations, a freshly plowed road home is a lovely sight.
