There is a week each April when Pueblo West decides to be green again — the tan breaks all at once in the lawns while Greenhorn Mountain is still holding its snow off to the south. Kings Lawn and Maintenance LLC meets that week with the first cut of the year, then keeps the calendar going: mowing, trimming, edging, and clearing whatever the winter wind stacked against the fences. Grass at this elevation grows in bursts between dry spells, so timing matters more than muscle. Handled that way, a yard keeps its color from the opening mow straight through to frost. Pueblo West and its neighboring towns make up the territory.
