About Madsen’s

Storms find the Palmer Divide before they find anywhere else — the ground lifts, the air cools, and Ponderosa Park takes the heavy end of a night that only dusted the city. Madsen's runs plow through those nights, opening long gravel drives, the turnaround by the barn and the last hundred yards out to the county road. Walks get shoveled down to the boards, and ice gets treated on the north side where shade keeps a drive slick past noon. The measure of the work is quiet: headlights moving out through the pines in the morning, on time, without a shovel in anybody's hands. By then the snow is where it belongs, banked clear of the drive instead of across it.
