Snow means something different in the upper Yampa Valley — it comes early, stacks up light and deep, and stays until the willows finally show through in April. I-Design of Steamboat, Inc works snow removal through that long white stretch around Phippsburg, plowing drives and lots, opening walkways, and pushing the banks back once they grow too tall to shove any farther. Down along the river the mornings run bitterly cold and unbelievably clear, the Flat Tops standing off west without a smudge on them. Getting a property open before the first pickup rolls out for the day is the entire assignment. This is a valley that takes winter seriously, and the work answers in kind.
