Wind gets a long run at Parker — down out of the foothills, across open grassland — and all August it hums in the ponderosas out toward the Pinery. Wiens Lawn and Tree Care keeps its work under that sound: mowing on a set weekly cadence, trimming tight along fences and foundations, edging the drives, aerating and feeding turf that has to hold moisture in thin dry air. Near Tallman Meadow the country opens south and Pikes Peak stands up on a clear day, and a mown yard against that much sky looks deliberate, like someone decided where the wild part ends. That decision is the result worth having, and it only holds if somebody comes back for it every week. Parker first, then the towns along the same stretch of high ground.
