From the top of Put Hill the whole valley opens at once — the San Juan River threading through town, steam lifting off the water on a cold morning. A Cut Below Lawn and Land Care works both halves of that view: the green months of mowing, trimming and edging, and the white ones of plowing driveways clear before the first commuters ease down the grade. Summer at this altitude is short and generous, so the grass gets cut while the light lasts and the lines are laid straight enough to read from the road. Come winter the same ground is measured in blade widths and banks, pushed back to gravel so a car can leave without hunting for traction. Two seasons, one piece of land, tended the whole way around.
