Fire Guard LLC - Fire Mitigation and Brush Clearing

About Fire Guard LLC - Fire Mitigation and Brush Clearing

Ouray sits deep in its box canyon, ringed by cliffs and timbered slopes that climb almost straight up from the rooftops, and that makes the land surrounding every home here matter. Fire Guard LLC does fire mitigation and brush clearing on those steep lots, thinning Gambel oak and cutting back the dry growth that creeps toward decks and eaves. The job runs hottest in the parched weeks of early summer, when the San Juans wait on afternoon clouds that may or may not deliver rain. What remains afterward is open, breathable space: lower limbs lifted, brush hauled off, a clear margin between the timber and the house. It is careful, sweaty labor with a simple reward, a house that sits a little easier in the canyon it calls home.
