Mountain Village stands at nine and a half thousand feet on the shoulder above the box canyon, in aspen and spruce all the way up to the ridge. Telluride Arborist® works the line where that forest meets the houses — pruning aspen stands so light reaches the ground again, reading spruce for the browning that shows up ahead of real trouble, and removing hazard trees leaning toward a roof or the gondola line. The season is short and steep: mud, then a fast green summer, then a week in late September when the aspens turn all at once and every hillside runs gold. Winter puts a serious load on a crown up here, so what gets cut in August still matters in February. It is deliberate work, done inside a forest that people traveled a long way to live in.
