Highrise Tree

About Highrise Tree

There's an hour right after a storm quits when Meeker goes perfectly still, the Flat Tops come out white and enormous to the east, and every drive in town needs opening. Highrise Tree spends it behind a plow, pushing back drifts, squaring up parking areas and clearing paths to doors and mailboxes. Snow at this elevation is dry and it travels — a lane cleared at noon can close again by dusk if the wind decides on it, so the job is measured in returns as much as in passes. The satisfaction is simple and physical: a clean rectangle of pavement in a country gone entirely white. Properties in town and out toward the ranches north and east are all in the rotation.
