Loveland does not lie flat. The west side rides up over old benches and swales past Mariano Butte, and the lawns there fall away from the house in long tilted panels that catch the afternoon sun full on. Hill's Mowing & Landscape cuts that kind of ground, working slopes and terraces and the awkward corners where a mower has to be steered rather than simply pushed. Trimming and edging finish the parts a deck can't reach, which on a hillside is most of the interesting parts. Summer here is bright and dry and hard on turf, so the cutting leaves some length and some shade over the roots. Fall brings the cleanups — leaves off the slopes before the wind decides where they belong.
