About Spencer For Hire, Inc.

An upslope storm piles against the Palmer Divide west of Limon and then slides out onto the flats — that is the forecast everybody here learns to read. Spencer For Hire, Inc. watches the same sky and stages for it: plowing driveways and parking areas, opening approaches off the county roads, shoveling steps and sidewalks, treating ice where the wind has polished it smooth. Storms on this stretch of prairie arrive with no windbreak at all, so clearing is less one pass than a whole night of them. By sunup the ground runs white to the horizon and the drive is black and open. Serving Limon, Hugo, Genoa, Matheson and the roads between.
