By late afternoon in June the anvil clouds stack up southeast of town and everybody in Limon keeps one eye on them. Anderson Landscaping & Yard Care mows ahead of that weather — grass cut before the first fat drops, clippings swept off the walks, the string trimmer run tight around the mailbox post and down the fence line. A high-plains lawn asks for patience: it comes on slow in May and holds its green only if somebody keeps after it. The payoff is evening light going long and gold across a yard with fresh stripes in it. Mowing, trimming, edging and cleanups, in Limon and out toward Hugo and Matheson.
