About Environmental Tree Care LLC

Lakewood runs from the flats up against the hogback, and its neighborhoods hold two kinds of trees: the heavy silver maples and elms of the older blocks, and the young stock going in around Green Mountain. Environmental Tree Care LLC works both ends of that — pruning for structure while a tree is still small enough to shape, trimming mature canopies back off rooflines and lines, and removing what has gone past saving. Storms build over the foothills on a summer afternoon and come down into the streets in a hurry, and by evening there are limbs across drives from Belmar to Bear Creek. That is a day of cutting, hauling and raking until a yard is passable and looks looked-after again. On a clear October morning, with the hogback sharp above Bear Creek Lake, a well-pruned canopy is about the finest thing in a yard.
