About Lake city hardscapes

Just south of town, Lake San Cristobal lies where the ancient Slumgullion earthflow dammed the river centuries ago, and that slow geological drama sets the tone for everything here. Lake city hardscapes cares for lawns in this San Juan Mountains town, tending the grass that meets stone paths, walls and cabin steps. Autumn is the jewel of the year, when aspen groves flare gold up every slope and a newly mown lawn lies deep green against all that color. The air turns thin and clean, and woodsmoke curls from chimneys as the evenings shorten. The aim is a yard that frames a cabin the way the lake frames the mountains — calmly, with nothing out of place.
