Hard Rock Dirt Works

About Hard Rock Dirt Works

Lake City was built on hard-rock silver, and the weathered Ute-Ulay mill along Henson Creek still recalls the days when this valley ran on stubborn work. Hard Rock Dirt Works carries a bit of that grit into lawn care, tending yards in a mountain town where the growing season is short and the ground is thin and stony. At nearly 8,700 feet, summer grass has only a few warm months to take hold, so every mowing and every bit of groundwork counts. Even in July, afternoon storms can rattle down off the peaks, then clear to rinsed, sparkling evenings over the canyon. When a yard looks trim against those rough volcanic slopes, it feels earned.
