On a clear winter morning, Longs Peak and Mount Meeker go pink above Lafayette a good half hour before the streets get any light at all. Monte Vista Landscapes LLC is usually working by then — plowing drives, shoveling walks, opening the way out before the alpenglow slides off the range. In the green months it turns to mowing, trimming, edging, mulch and cleanups, the summer version of the same care. That mountain view is the reason a lot of people are here; the lawn underneath it deserves to hold its own. Between the two, that is a year's work in this town.
