About Chavez Paving & Concrete, LLC

Four in the morning in Hudson, and the snow is not falling so much as traveling — sideways along Highway 52, piling into long white ridges wherever a fence or a ditch slows it down. Chavez Paving & Concrete, LLC is out in it, pushing driveways and lots back to bare surface before the first pickup turns over. Plowing, clearing drives and parking areas, shoveling walks by hand where a blade cannot reach, and laying down ice control on the slick spots. There is a particular pride in a lot that looks swept when the sun finally comes up over the grain elevators. The wind will try again tomorrow; the work is being ready for it.
