About THE BEARS OF THE ROCKIES

Come autumn, black bears drift down the gulches out of the Rampart Range and work the edges of Highlands Ranch as if the town were a late-season orchard. THE BEARS OF THE ROCKIES takes its name from that country and its appetite for the heavy end of yard work: mowing wide lots, edging long runs of concrete, string trimming the tangled corners, and hauling out everything a season leaves behind. Fall cleanups are the big ones, when cottonwood and ash can bury a lawn inside a week. Spring gets the same treatment in reverse, opening the yard back up for growth. Big work, done all the way through, so a yard never gets ahead of the person who owns it.
