In the Redlands the streets climb toward red rock, and the drives facing north hold their ice long after the rest of Grand Junction has dried out. The Redlands Handyman takes those on — plowing, shoveling walks and steps, clearing driveways down to the surface, scattering melt on the worst of the slope. A steep drive with a glaze across it is a real problem; a cleared one is simply the way home. It is small, local, particular work, and this side of the valley generates plenty of it.
