Wild Wing & Bloom

About Wild Wing & Bloom

First light along the Colorado at Veltus Park in May: magpies arguing in the cottonwoods, serviceberry going white on the bank, and the town's lawns waking all at once. Wild Wing & Bloom starts the Glenwood Springs season right there — raking out the winter grit, aerating ground that has been under snow and sand for months, mowing the first tender cut and edging the beds back to a clean line. Through summer it becomes a weekly rhythm of mowing, trimming and cleanup, kept soft at the margins where a yard meets the wilder riverbank. Autumn brings the leaf work, load after load, until the grass can see the sky again. Lawns that keep a little birdsong in them are the ones worth walking out into.
