About Earth-Wise Horticultural

Glenwood Springs sits in a canyon that gets far less rain than people expect, and the south-facing benches under Red Mountain dry to dust by August. Earth-Wise Horticultural works with that ground rather than against it — mowing high so the turf shades its own roots, aerating packed clay, overseeding the thin south edges where the sun leans hardest. Weeds show up first on those slopes: cheatgrass, thistle, every opportunist that follows a bare inch of dirt. Holding them back is a season-long conversation carried on with a mower deck and a steady walking pace. The result is a lawn that holds its color through a dry high-country summer and comes back fast the week the ditches open.
