The Jerry Lawn Co

About The Jerry Lawn Co

July on the high plains is dry heat and hard light, with sunflowers coming up along the fence lines outside Fountain and dust hanging behind anything that moves. The Jerry Lawn Co works straight through it. Mowing, trimming around posts and beds, edging the drive, clearing the clippings — the ordinary list, done in order, every visit. A lawn out here rewards consistency more than ambition; it wants somebody who comes back on the same day, cuts at the right height and doesn't scalp it in August. Late in the day the heat lets go, the shadows stretch out east, and a yard that has been kept all summer is a good place to stand.
