Tiff's Turf

About Tiff's Turf

By late August the heat sits on the south side of Fort Collins all afternoon and only lets go around eight, when the light along the Spring Creek Trail turns the color of dry grass. That is the hour Tiff's Turf likes best, walking a finished lawn, checking the edge against the flagstone, seeing where the mower will start next week. This is lawn care at ground level: mowing on a steady cycle, trimming what the deck cannot reach, feeding turf that has to live in high-plains sun and thin mountain air. A bluegrass lawn here is a small act of persuasion, and it answers to attention rather than force. Every visit ends with a walk of the property, from the blocks near the Gardens on Spring Creek out toward the county road.
