Before the traffic builds on Arapahoe Road, the retail lots along Englewood's south edge are empty and white and waiting. Keesen Landscape Management works snow removal across that kind of ground — plowing open pavement, clearing sidewalks and entries, treating the ice that forms where meltwater runs and refreezes overnight. A single Front Range storm can drop three inches on one side of town and eight on the other, so routes are run by what is actually falling. The aim is that the first person out of the first car steps onto bare concrete. Nothing dramatic, just pavement where pavement should be, hours before anyone looks.
