March snow up on the Divide comes wet and enormous, loading ponderosa limbs until they let go all at once and the whole park goes silent under it. Minch Enterprises works those storms across Ponderosa Park, plowing drives, pushing back parking areas and cutting a path to the door and out to the woodpile. Sand and ice melt go down where the sun never quite reaches and a glaze can live for a week. Some winters are a dry January and one enormous spring dump; the schedule belongs to the sky either way, and the phone gets answered on both. Getting a place back to the road is the entire job, and it is a good feeling to finish it before anyone is awake.
