For about three weeks each April, Eaton turns from tan to green almost overnight and the whole town smells like cut grass again. Elliott's Landscaping & Maintenance is out early in it, pulling winter out of the beds and corners, making the first mow everybody has been waiting on, running aeration through ground that has been frozen since November. From there it settles into a rhythm: mow, trim, edge, blow the walks clean, come back next week. Leaves get handled in October and the beds get put down for the season. It is a full circle, and the satisfying part is that every stop on it shows.
