About Durango Tree Care LLC

In October the cottonwoods along the Animas turn the same color as the aspen up the Purgatory road, and the narrow-gauge train pulls its plume of steam down the valley through the middle of it. Durango Tree Care LLC works both sides of the river, pruning ponderosa back from cabins in the Animas Valley and trimming the old shade trees on the numbered avenues in town. Removals go slow here on purpose — a big pine near a house comes down in pieces, roped, with somebody watching the road below. Summer thunderstorms and heavy spring snow each take their toll, and the cleanup afterward is thorough: limbs out, brush chipped, driveway clear before dark. It is steady, physical, useful work in a valley worth taking care of.
